A local historian will take the group on a walking tour of St Marys including its spired municipal Town Hall, Opera House and its mining quarry. Tuesday, July 16th, 2019. 1:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

St Marys is one of the many delightful small towns just a stone’s throw away from Stratford. We will begin with a visit to St Marys swimming quarry (Canada’s largest outdoor freshwater swimming pool) which is a slice of heaven during the warm summer months. Should you wish, slip on your bathing suit and take a dip in the quarry, Christopher Plummer’s favourite swimming hole while performing at the Festival. We’ll make sure there’s time to stroll through the downtown area and check out some of St Marys historical buildings with a local historian. The buildings were all built in the late 1800s or early 1900s, including the spired municipal Town Hall, the Opera House, the Public Library, and a few of the many churches in the community.
