Bargain shop, everything from quilts to horses, at Milverton's Mennonite sale and auction to support schools in the area. Saturday, July 20th. 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Milverton Amish settlement, which has been around for over 180 years, is one of the oldest Amish communities in North America. Since the mid-1900s, Milverton has held an Amish School Auction, which they open to the public. The highly anticipated auction begins about 9:30 a.m., and runs until mid-afternoon. There is a variety of unique and carefully created items that buyers can bid on, including hand-carved furniture, quilts, and horse tack. Like other Amish communities, the proceeds from the auction are the main source of funding for Amish schools in the area. On the way home, we will stop in the Amish town of Milbank for a delicious treat from Anne Mae’s Bakery.
