This tour goes beyond the downtown core of Stratford. Interestingly, Stratford is located on a plain a thousand feet above sea level making it the highest city in Ontario as well as the wettest in Southern Ontario. We begin on the shores of the Avon River, where the indigenous peoples once lived, while the colonists settled right across the river. We navigate through the tight knit communities which make up Stratford passing by many historical homes including a large home which housed orphans from Great Britain. We press on to a a repair shop that held 50 steam engines from across North America. Also, included on the tour will be the Stratford Perth Museum, Montforte Cheese, and Gallery Stratford. Our trip winds up (conveniently) at Mercer, for a glass of wine (or two!).
