Bikes in tow, we will begin this trip with a quick 15 minute drive outside of Stratford. Here, we will be greeted by pastoral landscapes of farms with red barns, white houses with green roofs, and the soothing clip-clop of horse-drawn buggies. We will then head off on the Goderich to Guelph Trail (G2G Trail). This trail was a former railroad line and weaves through hushed forest groves and rolling Mennonite farmland, across river valleys and wetlands, and past villages and towns. The ride is approximately 25km and is designed for cyclists of all fitness and skill levels. On our way home, we will be sure to reward ourselves with a treat from Anna Mae’s Bakery and Restaurant. Metal racks of old-fashioned baking mingle together the delectable scents of freshly baked bread, cookies, muffins and apple fritters.
