Zipline the Elora Gorge.

In the fall of 1832, Elora founder Captain William Gilkison forged ahead with his dream of creating a water-powered settlement by establishing a sawmill on the north side of the scenic Grand River. The picturesque town is full of quaint shops. The best starting point is on Mill Street which runs parallel to the river. The cozy street has a fantastic collection of stores including: Jammed Lovely, Pariscope,Aria Boutique, ReFind Salvage, Grand Gourmet, Yarn Bird and Styll. At the end of Mill Street, towering above the thundering falls of the Grand River and Elora Gorge, the Elora Mill Hotel & Spa has been a part of the Elora community for over 175 years and is currently being renovated in grand fashion.

Morning: Elora Gorge is a beautiful and spectacular natural area with 22 metre high cliffs, riverside trails and scenic lookouts to the gorge. Zipline 200 feet along the river as it cuts a jagged swath through dramatic limestone cliffs, high above the water’s surface. At the end, rappel down the rockface. Of course, no hero is complete without a full complement of gear, so safety helmets and harnesses, as well as a comprehensive lesson.

Afternoon: On the way back to Stratford, we will drive through the Amish farming community of Milbank and drop into Anna Mae's Bakery, a well known establishment where customers need to arrive early to get a taste of Amish cooking.
