Our road trip takes us to the award-winning Blyth Festival Theatre for a matinee performance. You will have a good seat to watch one of two plays: Jumbo, by Sean Dixon, the story of one of the biggest names in show business, the one, the only, Jumbo the Elephant. A cast of larger-than-life characters, including PT Barnum himself, Matthew Scott the elephant trainer and the Bearded Annie Jones, memorializing the legendary final performance of the most famous pachyderm the world has ever known, or; Bed and Breakfast, by Mark Crawford, a slap-down, drag ’em out comedy about being truly “out” in small town Ontario; the sometimes challenging joy of choosing a place to call home. Afterwards, Road Trippers are invited to a discussion with the director and/or the actors.
